Did you know on average a TV show produces 40-100 thirty yard bins a season, that’s the same as a couple Olympic swimming pools. What do you think happens to all of that waste? It’s thrown into a bin and ends up in a landfill.

That’s where we come in, with 20 years of building sets - Diversion Zero Waste is leading the film industry in diverting waste to landfills. By using our system we can help enable an average production in Vancouver to remove the equivalent of 174 passenger vehicles off the road for one year!

How does it work?

It’s simple.

We Drop Off.

Give us a call to organize when and where you would like us to drop off a 30 yard bin or a 53’ trailer with 24 hours notice.

We Pick Up.

Once your bin or trailer is full, we pick it up with 24 hours notice.

We Divert.

Once your bin arrives at our “living wage” certified facility, we will weigh your load and start the diversion process. We manually empty and sort through your trailer and create specific piles for diverting. Then, we set aside materials that can be reused such as wood. Any other materials will be ground up and used as a bio-fuel.

The remaining waste will be disposed of to reduce your carbon imprint to eliminate the decomposing of wood, which produces methane, which is 20 times worse than carbon dioxide.

Your Report.

After we have successfully diverted your waste, you will receive a complete break down of what you diverted from landfill. Every trailer or bin is tracked and we will tell you how many tons of material you saved from the landfill. Overtime you can keep track of how much you diverted and how much carbon dioxide you saved from going into the atmosphere.

PUT IT INTO PERSPECTIVE:

Our film Diversion Program really works. We help enable a TV show to displace roughly 800 tonnes of carbon from the atmosphere. That is the equivalent of removing the CO2 of 90,000 litres of gasoline burned from the atmosphere.
